Same bar, different loop

Two 16-inch bars can need 55, 56 or 57 links depending on the saw's sprocket and the bar nose. A Stihl MS 211 takes 55 on .050", an Echo CS-400 takes 57, a Craftsman or Poulan usually 56. Count the links on your old chain, or read them off the bar stamp, and match that number exactly.

When .325" shows up

Mid-size gas saws such as the Husqvarna 435 and Stihl MS 261 step up to .325" pitch, which is a bigger chain on the same bar length. Those loops sit on this rack too, in .043" LP, .050" and .063" gauges.
