Stihl's MS250 changed gauge around 2022, and this chain is for the older side of that line. It is the .063" gauge, 68-link, 18-inch 26RS 68 loop for 025, MS250 and MS251 saws with the original heavy-gauge bar.

    Count drive links on the old loop, or read them off its card.

  3. 3Match all three

    This loop is .325" · .063" · 68DL.

About this loop

Here is the catch: 2022 and newer MS250 saws may carry a .050" bar, and a .063" chain simply will not fit that groove. Pull the bar and read the stamp before you order. If it says .063", you are in the right place, and bar part 3005 008 4717 is a good sign too. For newer .050" bars, choose our 23RS 68 loop. The full-chisel cutters make fast work of clean firewood but are not low-kickback, so this is a chain for practiced hands. Part 3C368X, cross-referenced to 36390050068 and V68.

  • Fits the Stihl 025, MS250 and MS251 with the pre-2023 .063" gauge 18-inch bar, part 3005 008 4717.
  • Matches Stihl 26RS 68, 36390050068 and V68: .325" pitch and 68 drive links.
  • MS250 saws from 2022 onward may use a .050" bar; read the stamp or pick our 23RS 68 chain.
  • Full chisel and not low-kickback, so it is meant for experienced users trained to manage kickback.
