Skip-tooth chain leaves out cutters from the usual sequence, so each tooth has more room to clear chips. On a 20-inch bar for the Husqvarna 455 or 460 Rancher and Stihl MS311 or MS391, that means less clogging in big, soft or wet wood.

About this loop

A standard chain packs cutters tightly, which is ideal for small wood but can pack sawdust into the kerf on wide cuts. Our skip-tooth version keeps the same 72 drive links and .050" gauge, but spaces the cutters so the engine spends less effort and the chips fly clear. It shows its value in large-diameter softwood. Fewer teeth also means fewer to file at the end of the day. It is full chisel and not low-kickback, so use it only with experience. Part 2D0F72X matches the 72EXJ072G size.

  • Fits Stihl MS311 and MS391, Husqvarna 455 and 460 Rancher, and Poulan Pro saws with a 20-inch bar.
