    Count drive links on the old loop, or read them off its card.

About this loop

How do you know it is time for a new bar? Look for a chain that pulls to one side, rails with a lip or burr, or a groove that lets the drive links rock. Any of those will spoil cuts even with a fresh chain, and the combo solves both problems at once. The KAKEI bar is light and made for less kickback, a good fit for homeowners cutting firewood or clearing storm limbs a few times a season. Each chain is 3/8" LP with 56 drive links and meets ANSI B175.1-2012 low-kickback requirements. Keep two chains as spares.
